Introductory
Within the Chinese astrology, the Boar, or the Pig, is the last sign out of 12 animals in the cycle. In comparison with the Western Astrology, the Boar is parallel to that of Scorpio.

The Boar sign is denoted by a feminine or the yin sign.

It rules 1 month in the season of Autumn, 23 October to 21 November, and 2 segments of the day, 9PM to 11PM.

People who are born within that segment of the day are considered to have the Boar sign as their ascendant.

Its direction is the North-Northwest and fixed element is Water.

The Personality of the Boar
A common perception people have of Boars is that they tend to associate them with the animal itself that is being lazy, dirty and negligent but in many cases, this is not true.

The Boar is in fact honest, kind, determined, understanding and forgiving. Usually a peacemaker, he will do his best to pacify confrontations and bring people together. A believer of universal harmony, he will not hold resentment against others even when he is involved in the confrontation or is taken advantage of, and is almost never spiteful. This is due to his forgiving and tolerant nature, as well as his adherence to law and justice. The Boar does not like hypocrisy or sneakiness, and doesn’t like to create schism. When given a task, he will strive to complete and see it through, keeping his words and reliability.

A natural conversationalist, the Boar is a popular personality and usually speaks in a direct and truthful manner. He enjoys being in the company of others and socialising as well as being present at events, parties and gatherings. A great organizer of events, the Boar usually is the first to initiate contact and build rapport, he is able to maintain long-lasting and beneficial relationships with other people and is loyal, be it to other people or to his responsibilities. The Boar has a “don’t give up” attitude and his endurance to matters is unquestionable, is usually dependable in lending a helping hand when at a function, especially one which involves his club or society.

Due to the Boar’s kind, personable and generous nature, he is usually exploited and taken advantage of. Gullible and naïve, he can rarely identify deception as he easily puts his trusts on others and believes everything that they say. He will not admit that his trust has been compromised until years later, choosing to rather remain in denial, and he can sometimes be patronizing. It is hard for the Boar to decline anyone, and therefore, people run to him when they are in need. He will sympathise with you, listen to your problems and will not tell you that you are wrong, trying to not upset you even further. The Boar will help himself to all that you have without hesitation, and if you point it out to him, it will hurt him as he feels that whatever he has can be shared and feels the same way about your possessions.

The Boar is hard working but will play just as hard too and knows how to indulge. He pursues pleasure and materials, which may work against him, as he strives to satisfy his pursuits and gives in to his negative traits. He will spend his money freely in indulging on food, holidays, wine, luxuries and other activities therefore it is no surprise that the Boar and his money are easily sepaRated. However, his determination and passion can make him a successful and wealthy businessman should he pour his heart and soul into it. He will not hesitate to share his fortune or success through footing the bill, giving what he can, and unselfishly sharing whatever he has. His over-generous and hopeful attitude may instead work against him and be the source to most of his problems. If he is able to contain his urges, he will have fewer setbacks in life.

Another characteristic of the Boar is that he is excellent at fund-raising and works best when the work is done for others. He strongly advocates humanitarian causes as he seeks to expose himself to a variety of people and is most happy to be of service to others. Giving up his personal time is no issue, and his conscientious nature coupled with integrity makes him a favourite amongst colleagues and employers. He has a good sense of humour, enjoys entertaining and pleasing others, which again makes him a favourable character amongst others. He is able to recover quickly from setbacks and has the strength and determination to carry on although he likes to look at things on a short-term basis. He can be stubborn when he has his views set on things and rarely will change his mind. He may have numerous romances but when he settles down, he will remain loyal.

The female Boar is known to either be immaculate or very untidy and you can rarely find any that are in-between. Honest and devoted, she will do all that she can, focusing her energies to the needs of the family and almost never asking for anything in return. She will remain in the background, spoil and unwaveringly love her husband and children. She is open and friendly, caring and conscientious, and carries an aura of contentment around with her.

The Boar is more suited to those who are of the Rabbit, Dog, Tiger, and Goat signs.

Five Different Types of Boar
Metal Boar (1911, 1971) - The most ambitious, determined and dominating compared to the other type of Boars, the Metal Boar is strong and energetic, proud and intense. Reputation is highly valued by the Metal Boar and he is often involved in numerous activities with his warm, outgoing, affectionate and amiable character. He is open and direct with his views but at times, he is also credulous and does not look at things beyond the surface level. When he is angry or annoyed, the Metal Boar can be fierce and forceful in his expressions. He has great mental and physical strength and is ever so positive and persistent.

Water Boar (1923, 1983) - Having a heart of gold, the Water Boar is generous, loyal, devoted and diplomatic. He will aim to remain in the good books of everyone and will go out of his way to assist and help others. He strives to only look for the best in others, has poignant faith in what he does as well as in his loved ones but can sometimes be mistreated, used and taken for granted by others. The Water Boar should be more discerning and firm in general to discourage others from using him. He appreciates activities including parties, social events, and outdoor fun that requires being around people although at times, the quieter things in life appeal to him. His passion and hardworking nature are commendable but when he is negative, he will fixate his focus in acquiring physical pleasure, fine food, alcohol and material luxuries on the detriment of others.

Wood Boar (1935, 1995) - The Wood Boar is able to easily gain the support, trust and confidence of others through his convincing, friendly and persuasive ways. This will get him significant roles in his undertakings and he also has flair in creating a harmonious environment between people. He likes to be very much involved in everything, and sometimes assumes more responsibility than he can manage but his optimistic ways and networking with people will encourage him to embark on ambitious business projects. He is not selective with people he acquaints with and even goes to the extent of showing kindness to those who are un-deserving of his scrupulous and giving nature. He has to be careful though as these people may deceive him. The Wood Boar can manipulate others for selfish reasons however he derives more gratification through goodwill works with charitable organisations and those that are less fortunate. He is entertaining and cheerful and is likely to lead a fulfilling life.

Fire Boar (1947, 2007) - A big risk-taker who does not fear plunging into the unknown, the Fire Boar is confident of his own abilities and will attempt at anything and most likely succeed through his tenacity and confidence. He is energetic and straightforward, and can either make it big or fail, which of course is dependent on his chosen path and self-control. Due to his lack of judgement sometimes and over-excitement, the Fire Boar should employ more caution in some of his undertakings, especially when it comes to business. The Fire Boar is extremely generous and caring to friends and family and is determined to succeed so he is able to provide the best for his loved ones. The Fire Boar can sometimes be intimidating and remorseful but granted the opportunity, he has a wish to employing a large number of workers within his organization.

Earth Boar (1899, 1959) - Characteristics of the Earth Boar are that he is sensible, kind and realistic. He will go all the way with his goals and objectives, maintaining the willpower to see it through to accomplishment and admirably enduring all the stress and burdens that comes along with it. In relation to financial and business matters, the Earth Boar possesses more intelligence in dealing with this aspect; planning for his own future as well as having no hesitation in bearing other financial responsibilities, especially for his family. He is reliable and helpful, committed to his family and work and serves as an inspiration to others by setting himself as an example to do more. He may tend to over indulge a little sometimes, especially with food and drinks that may compromise his health and physique. Security and material success can come to the earth Boar for his is diligent and driven, and he avoids disharmony and stays clear of conflicts.

Seasons of the Boar
SPRING
Like a child, the Spring Boar has innocence and naïve exuding from him, making him an easy target for exploitation . He often sees the good qualities of others and does not believe they have a negative side. Often cherished and cared for by their loved ones, Spring Boars are very kind, outgoing, dynamic and forthcoming. Their preferred choice of work involves community service and charitable organisations, and engaging in teamwork is a significant part of their trait.

SUMMER
Summer Boars are light hearted and especially proud and passionate in what they are advocating for. They are extremely enthusiastic about life and love, but are sometimes hard to deal with because of their boisterous, sentimental, and aggressive nature. More often than not, they are down to earth, and rather opt for getting involved in matters than to sit back and relax. They give their all to achieve their dreams instead of having it done half past six, are generous and can be possessive.

AUTUMN
Autumn Boars do not take changes in their lives well, and does not like taking risk. They commit themselves to set goals and tend to go along with the majority rather than stand up for their own belief if they are the minority. Boars that are born during autumn cherish security, are worrisome and easily feel guilty. They are complacent because they do not like to take risks and be exposed to danger, therefore may hesitate in taking action on matters to achieve their long wish-list. Fall Boars are sincere, they do not like taking advantage of others, and are strong and reliable. Autumn Boars that are born during the day are more opinionated and outgoing than those born in the later part of the day. They have to fight and defend themselves throughout their lives. Boars that are born in the evening will have an easier life.

WINTER
The Winter Boars are easily exploited by others due to their naivety and innocence. They often find it difficult to say no to others, are obliging and trustworthy in both aspects of love and business. Albeit this, if they feel that there is nothing left to lose, Winter Boars can be your foe - a hurtful and rowdy one. Having a more exquisite taste in food and are more spendthrift, Boars born in winter are also considerate and courteous. They have more of a philosophical approach to things and most dependable amongst all Boars born in other seasons. They are extremely generous and giving, ambitious and have unwavering strength in their character. They are vibrant and adaptable as well. Beneath their façade of kindness, generosity and tolerance, Winter Boars are intellectual, which goes in line with their philosophical approach. By controlling their sentiments, staying focus and working with other disciplined and creative minds, Winter Boars can go a long way.

Characters of the Boar Child
The child is full of energy, and is not shy in showing affection. Carrying the traits early on, the Boar child is sociable, hard-working and easy-going and is popular amongst his peers in school. He will be able to endure physical pain better through his strong body, and enjoys competing with others not to win but merely for fun. He loves giving his possessions, indulging in luxuries and comfort but remains gullible therefore from a young age, self-control, discipline and judgement has to be instilled within him. A personable and well-liked child, who requires support when needed, the Boar-child brings together-ness, love, affection and unselfishness that is evident from a young age.

The Boar and His Ascendants
In Chinese horoscopes, a person born during different periods of the day will have an affect on his/her overall personality in various degrees.

For every individual, their personality has a centered “self” and many layers around it. Each layer has a different size, texture and aura, and when combined, it makes up who the person truly is.

Each period of time during the day corresponds to a different Chinese horoscope. So, although it is a person’s individual choice on which path he will take in life, there may perhaps be other “inner voices” which will influence him. These “inner voices”, “other self” or “inner struggle” comes from their conflicting ascendants.

E.g. A Rooster born in the hours of the Ox. In this case, the individual may experience both animal traits to different degrees, hence the conflict.

Your local time should be used when determining your ascendant.

11PM - 1AM: The Rat Hours
With a mix of the Rat in you, this Boar will be tough and astute, giving you the edge to be able to make better investment decisions and judgements that will not leave you being exploited or cheated without any support. This Boar will maintain the same characteristics in caring for, pampering and having strong and loving devotion to the family in addition to their incredibly generous nature. Like the Boar, the Rat is just as sociable, therefore complementing one another but the Rat enhances the prudence in you whilst the Boar maintains its light-hearted trait.

1AM - 3AM: The Ox Hours
The Ox ascendant emphasizes on the practicality and realistic side of the Boar but also increases the temper and habits of the Boar. Life is taken much more seriously, and your forthright trait tones down as compared to other Boars. The Boar remains reliable, hard-working and determined, but the Ox ascendant makes sure that the Boar is not distracted, especially by sensuality or commitments that are hard to fulfil due to generosity. It lends the Boar traits of being more self-control, strong-willed, and a believer within his own capacity.

3AM - 5AM: The Tiger Hours
You stand out with your good-natured, less cautious, and organizing skills. The ascendant of the Tiger makes the Boar more athletic, but also amplifies the lust and desire that is inherent within the Boar. You rely on the advices given from someone you trust; who is able to assist you in evaluating your priorities and problems, as both the ascendant and the Boar makes decisions based on emotion. You tend to also be easily influenced by others. All undertakings will be done whole-heartedly, and you are eloquent in your speech and in entertaining others.

5AM - 7AM: The Rabbit Hours
The ascendant in the Rabbit sign gives the Boar a meditative, calm and discreet vibe. You are more perceptive and affable but also lack the liking to shoulder more responsibilities and burdens as you are more aware in easily trusting others and being obliging. The Boar is evident in you as you enjoy partying, but you tend to stay tactful, meticulous, spontaneous, cautious and practical.

7AM - 9AM: The Dragon Hours
The Dragon and Boar are strong signs, and your determination, devotion, strength and ambition is highlighted with the Dragon as your ascendant. You are more likely to take risks, and do things on a greater scale, and with the Boar’s optimistic and enthusiastic nature, you risk being too extreme and distracted if there is no proper guidance from others. However, if you have beneficial advisors and proper guidance, successes are guaranteed. The Boar with the ascendant of the Dragon will not lack supporters with the causes and projects that you want to undertake.

9AM - 11AM: The Snake Hours
The Boar with the snake as an ascendant is more intuitive, meditative, and unlike the innate energy-filled Boar, the snake gives you a more calming front. You have a lot of self-confidence and are more possessive. The snake brings intellect and stability to the Boar when aiming to achieve goals, but you may be lonelier and more independent. You are not as uptight with principles and integrity, and may even pursue individual goals without much guilt.

11AM - 1PM: The Horse Hours
The ascendant in the Horse sign gives boldness and courage to the Boar, to accomplish things that are imaginative and adventurous. The Horse brings the Boar a new twist, in that you become slightly more self-centred to achieve things not only for other people but putting your personal priority, gains and achievements first. It is not that you totally shun your naivety, kindness and generosity, but the decisive and sociable you will include your needs in the picture as well, and the Horse will show you the way.

1PM - 3PM: The Sheep Hours
The main traits of the Boar stand out even with the Sheep being an ascendant. Generosity, kindness, and amiability are some to name whilst you continue to be well liked through the confidence and trust you impart on others. You are still not free from being exploited by others but that doesn’t deter you from being big-hearted or being a hard worker. With the combination of a Sheep and Boar, you are also able to pacify your aggressive and desirous state with social responsibilities as you sympathise with those who are less fortunate than yourself. Maintaining honest and sincere relationships with others especially those you love is easily done, through your personal dignity and composure.

3PM - 5PM: The Monkey Hours
The Boar is energetic and resourceful, but the Monkey brings in some waywardness in you through crafty, devious thoughts and actions. If you are easily exploited, having the ascendant of a Monkey will minimise the occurrence and likelihood of your being cheated or taken for granted. You can clearly and easily distinguish between those who are nice, friendly and kind to you and those who want to only take advantage of you. In addition, you are also able to hold your ground, inspiring and getting people onto your side through your sociable ways and creativity. You are quick-witted and can turn compromising situations around to benefit you instead.

5PM - 7PM: The Rooster Hours
Lively, active and meticulous, the ascendant in the Rooster sign brings about more opinions in your everyday thoughts and actions, whilst conforming to a heretical but diligent approach to things no matter what it relates to. What you undertake is generally motivated by goodwill and when you listen to other’s problems, you have a knack in giving great advices. You maintain your qualities even in circumstances derived from volunteering and benefiting others. The Rooster in you sometimes does not see the value or look long term into certain activities that you undertake whilst your innate self that arises from the Boar usually compares with others and you under-estimate what you are actually capable of. You think that others are more gifted and competent as compared to yourself and you place less emphasis and insignificance to yourself. It will be a fantastic match if you are able to be more resourceful and less competitive, so that the abundant qualities of the Boar shine through. You also like to encourage teamwork.

7PM - 9PM: The Dog Hours
You are more sceptical and have better judgement, through the dog being your ascendant. Your aesthetic needs may be suppressed, whilst practicality and logic come forth more evidently. The Boar is renowned for its tolerant and understanding nature but coupled with the sign of the dog, your pardoning and amiable nature declines. You do not handle cheating and sneakiness as well although your core personal strength, faithfulness and dependability remains. You are giving still, but more prejudice and aware when dealing with others. You get what you have to do done without complaints or hesitation, and you are very much favoured within your peers as they commonly approach you for advice due to you selflessness and better judgement coming from the dog. You are bothered by social, political, racial and religious injustice therefore you strive in benefitting the lives of others through partaking in noble causes.

9PM - 11PM: The Boar Hours
The traits of the Boar are very much evident when you have the same ascendant sign as your birth sign. You will undergo the journeys of life and its problems, but when you come out of it, you will be like a brightly shining star. You have no ulterior motive in helping others, and more often than not, you depress your own needs, admirable characteristics and shun the limelight, to attend to the needs and fulfil the wishes of others. You often place yourself secondary albeit your boisterous and sociable nature. Your greatest challenge is to find yourself, and to get to know the true person you really are. Your giving nature and unpretentiousness is commendable and you are truly satisfied when you are able to use your life to benefit others.

When Moon Signs Meets Sun Signs
In addition to ascendants, there is also another additional factor which affects an individual's personality: the sun signs. The sun signs, or the Western zodiac sign, parallels the Chinese lunar signs. Based on the month and season of the Rat, it is paired with Sagittarius and thereafter the rest of the sun signs are paired with the concurrent moon signs accordingly.

SAGITTARIUS: 22 November to 21 December
Fire + Negative Water = Sagittarian Boar

Noble, generous and kind-hearted, the Sagittarian Boar is the perfect next door neighbour you can have. You are funny and entertaining but carry forth your naivety that is commonly associated with the Boar. Although you may be direct, you still easily place your trust in others and usually easy going and munificent. You have a never-give-up attitude and your tenacity in overcoming failures guides you to success.

CAPRICORN: 22 December to 20 January
Earth + Negative Water = Capricorn Boar

As the say, slow and steady wins the race and this is exactly what is observed in the Capricorn Boar. With great aspiRations, you remain resilient to what you have set out to achieve but along the way, you remain vigilant. When faced with hindrances and hurdles, the sun and moon sign gives you the courage to overcome them and through your traditional means, you respect and believe in making other people’s wishes come true. When work is concerned, the Capricorn Boar remains as conscientious, responsible and diligent as ever, taking on the Boar’s faith and wary attitude even if the conditions alter.

AQUARIUS: 21 January to 19 February
Air + Negative Water = Aquarian Boar

Affection and passion is what the Aquarian Boar has innately instilled within him although the Aquarian sign also brings the Boar a rash and rebellious side. Your creativity will surprise others and often makes people wonder and imagine beyond the surface level. Despite being rash and rebellious, you uphold and abide by morality, although you don’t show it. You will always want to move forward and not be tied down or committed to single, set responsibilities. The Aquarian Boar likes to take lead and sets the trend, stir and cause either minor or big commotions. Never staying idle at any one point, advancement is the key that keeps you going to reach your goals.

PISCES: 20 February to 20 March
Water + Negative Water = Pisces Boar

The pairing of Pisces and the Boar could potentially bring about success and harmony should each sign’s characteristic shine through. Reflective of being in the water all the time, Pisces naturally brings with it flair in possessing survival instincts, and an ability in observing and understanding others whilst the Boar remains optimistic and dynamic. As a natural Boar, you avoid confrontations and any relationships that you have are very much cherished. Support from exterior sources comes easy for you, although as always, you have to be weary of those whose aim is solely to take advantage of you. You like to splurge, and do not mind showering your loved ones and family with much fondness and whatever you are able to afford.

ARIES: 21 March to 19 April
Fire + Negative Water = Aries Boar

You represent the fun, simple, carefree, positive and delightful mind set. You possess radiant energy and your laid-back spirit overshadows the typical temperamental Aries characteristic that when is too direct, may hurt others at times. One would feel secure when they are with an Aries Boar as he can be one’s pillar of support and strength when it is needed most. You will not give up on others, and you are concerned with everyone’s welfare most of the time as you sincerely take them to heart. Aries Boar likes showing affection to others, and is sometimes disruptive but they are a strong-willed character, who is generous, active and highly appealing to the opposite sex.

TAURUS: 20 April to 20 May
Earth + Negative Water = Taurean Boar

The Taurean Boar possesses characteristics that are opposite to one another – you can be secure and impenetrable with the fort that you put infront of you or you can choose to be downright sociable. You like to eat, with an appetite akin to one who has not eaten for days, and you approach others with much pleasantness, tenderness and vigour. People are more likely to confide in you and be your best friend as you show them the same sincerity, tolerance and attentiveness as you would to your loved ones. You have excellent PR and peoples’ skills, and together with the cooperation brought forth from the sign of the Taurus, you have a combination that will surely be adored by all.

GEMINI: 21 May to 21 June
Air + Negative Water = Gemini Boar

The indecisiveness trait of the Gemini does not show up in the Gemini Boar. Instead, you will go through a myriad of buzzing activities that will leave you busy and fatigue. In all aspects, you still manage to uphold your genuine, noble and caring nature. You are in luck as planet Mercury brings to you extra skills that will make you succeed – initiative, impetuses and alert and agile. You will be very well like in the community as the Boar in you remains hospitable and admirable. With the touch of a Gemini in you, you have an added advantage in problem solving skills, often examining things with clarity and looking at things from a bigger picture. However, the ethical, kind and compassionate side in you will always take other’s feelings as a prime factor as well throughout your evaluation. The Gemini Boar performs well in environments that do not remain stagnant – that is, you like the constant change in scenery and in your life as you are easily bored. You keep yourself busy to avoid complacency, you are athletic and you choose to remain game for anything that spontaneously pops in.

CANCER: 22 June to 21 July
Water + Negative Water = Cancerian Boar

Cancer brings out the pleasure seeking trait of the Boar more evidently, especially in your pursuit of physical pleasure and material comfort. If you are not careful, you will be easily distracted with your over-indulgence in those pursuits. The Cancerian is only beneficial when you are able to let go and surrender the things that you hold dear and are no longer of importance, and it brings with it a possessive nature therefore letting go is rather difficult. You may be overdramatic in your actions as well. When the constructive personalities from both the Boar and Cancer are able to match well, love, wealth and satisfaction will definitely be knocking on your door.

LEO: 22 July to 21 August
Fire + Negative Water = Leo Boar

You work hard, you play hard and you rarely save your money. That is the general take on things for the Leo Boar as you take both the extremes for the things you undertake. Your extroverted personality is evident here, and you do not lack humour. You have bursting energy and enthusiasm, and you will be at the forefront when it comes to partying. The lion in you sometimes express anger through your tone, and you are dramatic – you like theatricals. However, generosity and sincerity defines you, and by you having faith sparks confidence in others, bringing out the finest in them.

VIRGO: 22 August to 22 September
Earth + Negative Water = Virgo Boar

Emancipate yourself from work that is too intense, stressful and repetitive. Virgo brings you intellect and you therefore are able to make better decisions through comprehensive study on both sides of the decision-making process. Commitment is a slight problem for you, and you are weary, which is good as you are not easily fooled by others. Virgo brings you talent in dealing with economics, and you have the Boar’s luck in financial transactions – success lies in the choices you have.

LIBRA: 23 September to 22 October
Air + Negative Water = Libran Boar

You have many aspiRations and ambitions but it is hard to pinpoint them as you remain silent and private about them. The Libran Boar is extremely gentle and generous, and you get a mix of endurance, creative, sensitive and virtuous traits within your overall persona. You usually are diplomatic, and sit on the fence with both actions and decisions, but the Boar side in you attracts you to engage in social and charitable works. A great match in personalities between these sun and moon signs, the Libran Boar is more than you could ask for.

SCORPIO: 23 October to 21 November
Water + Negative Water = Scorpio Boar

Unlike many of your Boar counterparts, you put yourself first. You opt to rather accomplish your own requirements and desires first and you are able to do whatever it takes to succeed. You are naturally assertive in your ways and you strive for authority. However, depending on the circumstances, you are able to compromise for others although this may sometimes mean that it is at a detriment to them. You can be generous and passionate when you want to be, and you possess immense endurance and you are able to sacrifice to whatever lengths if need be.

Compatibility and Conflict
The conflict and compatibility chart helps indicate complementary or conflicting horoscope signs. There are often 2 other complementary signs for each horoscope and one conflicting sign for every individual sign. The way to determine this is to place each of the 12 signs in a circle and the sign that is opposite of each other are conflicting, while the signs that form a triangle within that circle are the complementary signs. Aside from these 3 signs, the rest of the signs are compatible but in varying degrees.

The Boar belongs to a group that is more pronounced for their emotional and artistic abilities. Other signs that belong here are the Rabbit and Sheep. They are all part of the forth and the last Triangle of Affinity. They have high dependency on their senses and have creative flair in the fields of architecture, fashion and design amongst others. They are empathetic and dependant, and prefer a harmonious environment. The Rabbit, Sheep and Boar are very good complements for one another.

An individual belonging to the sign or have an ascendant of the snake will be the Boar’s biggest and most conflicting clash. This is because the snake and Boar occupy opposite positions, 180 degrees, from one another on the circle of conflict. Water and fire, both yangs (negative sings), are elements that do not mix, and each is the fixed element of the Boar and snake respectively. Naturally, they will not pursue one another’s company, and if they have a relationship, it will be filled with discontentment and many difficulties.

Rat
A good union between the two, the Boar would appreciate the Rat’s instinctive awareness and self-sustaining survival skills whilst the Boar’s consistent luck in most aspects of life, his readily available affection, adherence to commitments and his compassionate nature is what will attract the Rat. Both will benefit from a relatively pleasing and compatible relationship.

Ox
The union between an Ox and a Boar may not last for a long time and they are only fairly compatible. It is not because of personality clashes but their compatibility is more dependent on other signs. If an individual belonging to the Sheep or Rabbit sign clashes with the Ox, it is more likely the Boar will clash with him as well. Similarly, the Ox’s best friend is the snake, which might be detrimental to the Boar.

Tiger
A dynamic and generous relationship can occur between the Tiger and the Boar. Both will contribute enthusiasm, sociability, and confidence to one another as the Boar remains forgiving and the Tiger is as passionate as the Boar would like him to be. They will complement each other very well; more so in a business relationship where proposals and ideas are will be supplied by the Tiger whilst loyalty, unreserved support comes from the Boar who would be captivated by the Tiger’s propositions. On a downside, both are rash and have huge desire for food, over indulge and shun their responsibilities.

Dragon
Like the Boar, the Dragon respects honesty and dedication, and passionately advocates their beliefs and causes. No serious differences between the Dragon and the Boar, the Boar will obligingly and joyfully build a relationship with the Dragon. However, the former may be a tad too self-indulgent and meticulous whilst the latter can be egoistic and pretentious for each other’s liking.

Horse
There are no large differences between the Horse and the Boar, nor do they clash. There is no attraction on a long term basis between the Horse and the Boar as the chemistry between them lacks. However, this may be countered if both share the same ascendant, and if the Horse is understanding and accepting of the Boar’s sometimes possessiveness. The Boar is inept in keeping up with the agility, quick reactions and temperamental spells of the Horse whilst the Horse heavily relies on the generosity and great strength of the Boar. Both are sociable and if they have common interests, a great friendship can be built.

Monkey
The mischievous Monkey could play tricks on the Boar but there will generally be no great differences between the 2 parties. Although hard to refrain from doing so, the Monkey will in time appreciate the fact that they both need one another and will make a conscious effort to stop. It is not that the Boar minds the mischiefs and tricks of the Monkey as he is a good sport and a forgiver. In fact, the Boar might even find the cleverness of the opportunistic Monkey appealing. The Boar’s generosity and spendthrift ways may be a bit too much for the Monkey to handle whilst the lack of and wavering integrity of the Monkey does no good in gaining acceptance from the Boar.

Rooster
The Rooster is highly judgmental and opinionated in nature, but the Boar rarely takes offense at the Rooster for the Boar is forgiving, patient, pleasant and straightforward. They get along well; as the Boar can shrug off anything others may find intolerable from the Rooster. The Rooster can go on and on in its complaints and naggings all day long but this will not affect the Boar as he selectively listens to what he has to and draws his own conclusions.
