The Five Elements

What I think is very fascinating about Chinese astrology is that it takes into account everything about our lives so it is very detailed. It does not just consider our birth date, our birth time or month of birth but also the elements and how different elements can influence our personalities.

I think it is good because it matches our human nature. We are also very complex creatures and not so black and white, so it is good to have a complex system that can help to analyse complex us haha!! Not really, there are trained people out there who can do it to a more complex level because Chinese astrology is very complex, but a lot of things can also be done by ourselves. BMW vs VW

As I was travelling home last night, I saw a broken BMW. I was thinking, is it better to have a broken BMW or another working car, let us say the VW Golf?

In this case, when the nice car does not work, and the not-so-nice car does work, which one fulfils its purpose better? Which one is more useful to you?

So I think that people put too much value in the brand of things and forget the original purpose of why it was created.

Do not laugh at the Golf which is more useful (and cheaper to maintain!) than the BMW. Yes, when the BWM is working, it is very fast and you can drive faster to where you need to be. But at the end of the day, using both methods, you arrive at your destination, do you not?

Of course, after that philosophy, I still would say give me the BMW over the Golf any day!! Haha ;-)

Genius

What is the rest of your life going to be like? Is this a choice all geniuses have to make? Or are they just naturally going to choose the memorable path? For those of us who are not naturally geniuses, that is not fair... how come we are not geniuses?

In a strange way, the arts like horoscopes and feng shui help me to deal with that. They teach me to understand why certain people have a certain personality, or a strength or weakness. They also teach me how to deal with those people because I am a Fire Dragon, so I can be overpowering and therefore sometimes also not effective in what I want to do.

It is okay if you do not agree with me. Because there are a lot of things in this world that will suit you, and how you wish to explain all the different phenomena that forms this interesting thing which we call the human life!!

101 Questions of Life

"Do you know why you are born?" I have always been asked that question, and I have always asked myself the question too.

When I was younger, the answer was very simple. Catholic family so my answer would 'naturally' be "To serve God". As I grew older, it slowly became not so much about serving God. Or actually, maybe it was more about serving God because I started to see God in everything beautiful in this world. But as I grew older, I believed less and less in the Catholic faith and I looked elsewhere to find my answer for the question "Do you know why you are born?"

When I was a teenager, the answer was still simple, but it changed from time to time. My answer would be "To have fun". I did not care for responsibility or growing up because I thought I had a lot of time in this world. Then mamma became sick and I got scared because I did not want to lose her (I did not but that is another story).

Mamma recovered but I became rebellious and started to think everything was my right to have, my right to do and my right to own. I think I became scared of losing things, because I had become so scared of losing mamma. I wanted to make sure I had everything I deserved before I died. So my answer became "To get what rightfully belongs to me, and to defend what rightfully belongs to you".

Mamma was wonderful. Mamma let me be for a little while before telling me, "Gabriella, I do not like the person you are becoming. I did not raise you to be this way. Do not let me lose you." It was a tough wake-up call.

Now that I am older (I do not need a reminder of how old!!), I can see why mamma told me that all those years ago. I was not happy being so righteous and wanting everything to be my way, and I was not making anyone happy also. Mamma for example, was very unhappy that I had become so selfish. I was hurting others to get what I wanted.

So I stopped it although it comes back every now and then. But now I think my answer to the question "Do you know why you are born?" is "To make others happy". Because when they are happy, they are standing by me because they know I care for them, and I do not want to get anything from them.

I think in that, I also see God because God is compassionate and kind, and He loves me as much as He loves everyone else. God is not biased and He is not selfish - in believing that I was born to make others happy, I feel closer to Him than I did as a card-carrying Catholic child. So even though I am no longer Catholic in name, maybe I am now more Catholic in spirit ;-)

Tarot Cards

I would like to write about tarot cards because they are quite close in the group of things I believe in (horoscopes and feng shui). My friends tell me they work but I am not happy about using them. They ask me why so I say it is because I do not know who is giving us the answers. Is it energy? Is it wind? Is a spirit? Is it God? I do not know so I do not like it... what if the answers are wrong? Maybe I do not understand tarots enough so I must read up more.

They ask me why I do not like to use them, since they belong to the mystical group like the horoscopes and feng shui I like so I say because horoscopes and feng shui is based on people's observation of what they can see, and what they understand of the forces that exist in nature. You cannot deny the movement of the stars, and how the elements work together. But you cannot see or know for sure who is controlling the cards.

So yes, I believe the cards work but I do not know how and I find that quite scary!!

She is so unique. I do not particularly like her music or her style, but I can appreciate her individuality and willingness to speak her mind. I heard that she is coming up with some sort of new album about crystals and DNA? Strange subjects to be singing about but I guess that is her, and her artistry... I wish I was so creative!!

It makes me think about how and why some people become so creative and other people are like me... people who only appreciate but cannot do! I am sometimes in a little bit of awe because of people like her and how they are so fearless. They are not shy or ashamed, or scared of people putting them down for what they say, dress, think, sing, or do.

It sounds very liberating for the mind not to have so many restrictions on what is possible and not possible, or even what is acceptable and what is not acceptable,
